The Improved Meyer Lemon is a favorite among citrus lovers because it is less acidic and sweeter than standard lemons, making it not only ideal for baking and juicing but also for eating fresh. Do to its sweetness the Improved Meyer is an absolute favorite for making lemonade! Expect to share your harvest because when others find out you have an Improved Meyer they will want some too as this variety is not readily available commercially due to it’s lack of viability for transporting and processing. The flesh and juice can have a pinkish tinge, but it varies, and the skin can be orange in color. The Improved Meyer is a lemon-orange hybrid. The tree is almost thornless and is great for growing as a hedge or in containers.
